Having a Door County Moment!

I think Acey was happy to be home for a bit!
Boe made me take a picture of the bridge up. Such a tourist!

Our wonderful host Bryan. Thanks so much, Bry, for letting us invade your house!

The meanest member of the Zager Zoo: Mitzi.

Boe napped with Sammy for a bit.

And with Lucy for a while too.

Mom, Justin, Greg and Dad. And that's Sammy at the bottom there.

Sammy in her chair. So spoiled!

Greg and Mitzi and Dad looking on. :)

We, of course, had to go see Lake Michigan. So this is Dad and Boe having guy time. Dad- and son-in law.

It's humbling.

Boe was freeeeeezing!

And, of course, the kids by the water.

To top off several days in DC, we had to stop at Renard's to buy some cheese and DC wine. I even convinced a lady to buy a bottle or two of Simon Creek Wine! It's as though I never left!

LamBoe Stadium!

Hi all,
In order to give Boe the real Wisconsin experience we took him to Lambeau Field, never mind that I have never been there myself... It was a lot of fun even though we couldn't go many places, just Curly's Pub. We had some excellent breaded cheese curds and beer cheese dip there. Excellent! I missed cheese! Here are some fun photos!

Meandering across Minnesota

The Wicks plus Boe spent a couple days in Door County and now a few more days in Hurley, Wisconsin. During the ten-hour drive we had to find ways to entertain ourselves. I took photos of barns. Here are the best ones I saw across the state, and a few shots of everyone else too. Also, Mom is obsessed with wind turbines, so every time she saw one, I had to take another shot.
Enjoy!

Boe's favorite barn.

Boe drove most of the trip. I was impressed.

Snoooze.

"Hello, my name is Ace and I will be your co-pilot today."

We saw a bald eagle along the way.

Align Center
This one was my favorite building.

Because I posted the photo of Mom sleeping, I posted this one, which I think is way less flattering than the one of her sleeping.

Mom loved those windmills.

Boe's Gift

I just found this photo, so I thought I would share it. When I went to Canada in August, Boe asked me to get him something. Well, I got him something, but it's more for the house, really. I seem to do that a lot.
Anyway, right after we got back from closing on the house, I snuck into the house while he and my dad were having "man time" outside, and put this statue on the mantle in the first room when entering the house just waiting to welcome him home as he enters the door as a first-time home buyer!
I really like it for several reasons.
First, I was welcoming him to our new home (after all, he had now signed all the paperwork and all that junk).
Second, he seems to be welcoming me home all the time from college. It feels that way.
Third, this summer, I waited up all the time waiting to welcome him home from work at about 11 p.m. or midnight, even 2 a.m. one time!
In any case, it's his first time buying a house, our first home together, and it seemed to be the perfect thing for our relationship.
He just grunted. But I'm pretty sure it was a grunt of approval. At least I think so.

Nobody be concerned, the wood paneling will disappear. And soon!
And it's not supposed to be us. We're not that skinny. It's just a nice idea!
Also, none of our horses are that skinny. Or that goofy-looking.

Love,

Reception

Hi all,
Boe and I had originally planned for the wedding reception to be at our new house, because all the places we could find to have the reception wouldn't let us bring our own food in, which was a big problem since we're planning a pig roast. In any case, I found a beautiful lodge in which we can have our reception, and we can bring our own food in! I am really pumped. It's even in Wolsey, and is pretty close to Shooter's Saloon, so that may be sort of fun. I'm happy we don't have to rush to have the yard spick and span! Whew!
Here are two photos I found online.
