We booked the Church!

Hi everyone!

Here's a little pixelated teaser and some history on Boe and my church, which we booked yesterday. I'm pumped that we got it because it is bea-u-ti-ful!

Centennial Center – Huron, South Dakota – Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this building is more commonly known as the Old Stone Church. The structure was built in 1887 of huge granite boulders from a farm northeast of Huron.

Gothic stone structure (1887) houses state centennial memorabilia, Native American artifacts, railroad items, and memoirs of Hubert and Muriel Humphrey.

On September 3, 1936, Humphrey married Muriel Fay Buck in Huron, South Dakota.

Hubert Horatio Humphrey II (May 27, 1911 – January 13, 1978) was the 38th Vice President of the United States, serving under President Lyndon Johnson. Humphrey twice served as a United States Senator from Minnesota, and served as Democratic Majority Whip. He was a founder of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. He was also elected mayor of Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1968 Humphrey was the nominee of the United States Democratic Party in the United States presidential election, but lost to Republican Richard M. Nixon.

This son of Hubert Humphrey Sr. was born in Wallace, South Dakota (Codington County). He attended the public schools of Doland, South Dakota, where his family had moved. After public school, he graduated from Capitol College of Pharmacy, Denver in 1933. He then became a pharmacist with the Humphrey Drug Co. in Huron, South Dakota, from 1933 to 1937.
